Indian railway is one of the most beautiful that the country has and which also contributes to the total economic development of the country. Trains which make the Indian railway proud are Shatabdi express, duronto express, Rajdhani express, Tejas express etc.
Tejas express comes first in the series of a semi-high speed fully air-conditioned train. Tejas express is introduced by the Indian railways. Tejas express includes the board facilities, i.e. automatic doors. According to the Indian language is concerned Tejas means sharp, lustre, brilliance. There are some of the trains which gets the highest priority in the Indian railway network which are Rajdhani express, gatimaan express, Shatabdi express, duronto express and along with the Tejas express.
History- the Tejas express was introduced in the Indian market on 24 may 2017 from Mumbai CST to karmali, goa.
About- the coaches of the Tejas express are manufactured at the railway coach factory, Kapurthala. The train runs at an average speed of 130km/h but currently runs at a speed of 56km/h.
The coaches of the Tejas express includes bio-vacuum toilets, water level indicators, tap sensors, hand dryers, integrated Braille displays, LED tv for each passengers with phone sockets, local cuisine, celebrity chef menu, wifi, tea and coffee vending machines, magazines, snack tables, CCTV cameras , fire and smoke detection and suppression system. The fare prices of the Tejas express are 20%-30% more than that of the fare of Shatabdi express. Although Tejas express has redesigned the seats with leather.
There are total 14 non – executive chairs cars, and they can seat up to 72 passengers each 3+2 configuration. The coaches of Tejas express includes the energy- efficient LED lights and digital destination display boards. The new Tejas includes the two executive chair cars, i.e. in 2+2 configuration which has a seating capacity of 56 passengers and also the adjustable headrests, arm support and leg support through the leg support is not available in non- executive chair cars.
The central table of the Tejas express has the infotainment screens which are equipped with soap dispensers, touch-less water taps, odour-control systems and occupancy indicators. The toilet in the Tejas express has been designed with the modern standards in mind. Currently, the Indian railway's mind is to make tracks defection free, though the Indian railway has installed bio-vacuum toilets in the Tejas express and in other trains also.
Bio- vacuum toilets consumed only 1.5 litres of water in per flush against the normal toilets which use 10 litres per flush. Tejas express runs three days per week, i.e. Monday, Wednesday, Saturday. All the doors in Tejas express are centrally controlled.
Future expansion- Tejas express is all planning to set to start plying on the surat to Mumbai route in the next financial year, after that the Delhi- Chandigarh tejas and also from Delhi- Jalandhar Tejas will also be soon launched. According to the reports, former railway minister Mr Suresh Prabhu visited surat and announced that Tejas express would be soon running between these two cities also.

- The Tejas express has the luxury and hi-tech train which also has the Braille assistance for the visually impaired passengers.
- Tejas express is fitted with GPS ( global positioning system). This system used to provide location-based- passenger information and digital destination board also.
- The IRCTC handles the catering facility of the passengers very carefully by providing a wide variety of fresh and healthy meals.
